INT. MOTHERSHIP, COUNCIL OF MINISTERS - DAY
COUNCIL LEADER: What is next on the agenda?
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: A woman who shot and killed one of our own.
COUNCIL LEADER: You know that this is a straight forward decision.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: She claims self defence. She shot our colleague because she thought she had killed her friend.
COUNCIL LEADER: What does the predictor say?
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: It says she is still a threat.
COUNCIL LEADER: I don’t need to tell you the law in this case. Exterminate her?
DIETER: No.
He moves forward
DIETER: She deserves a second chance
COUNCIL LEADER: Stand down
DIETER: You can’t be so cold, so ruthless. She’s a good person. I know she is. Give her a chance.
COUNCIL LEADER: Restrain that man.
He turns to the alien supreme leader
COUNCIL LEADER: Has he passed the predictor test
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: Yes.
COUNCIL LEADER: One more word out of him and he will be detained.
(beat)
Now, what is next on the agenda?
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: Thirty-seven prisoners from the upper world who have failed the predictor test
COUNCIL LEADER: And the others?
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: They passed.
COUNCIL LEADER: Very well. Exterminate the thirty-seven.
DIETER: You can’t do this. This is not justice. You have no authority to play god.
COUNCIL LEADER: Who would you rather I set free? The woman or the thirty-seven
DIETER: I can’t make that choice and neither can you.
COUNCIL LEADER: Every individual has to recognise that there has to be repercussions to their actions
DIETER: There will come a time when you will eliminate an innocent or a number of innocents. Everybody has a right to defend themselves.
COUNCIL LEADER: The predictor is never wrong.
DIETER: Especially when someone covers it up. One day you will be held accountable for the way you treat these people.
COUNCIL LEADER: Take him away.
Several alien guards surround Dieter.
DIETER: No. No. No....
COUNCIL LEADER: In the matter of the man who calls himself Lord Prefect what say you Council member Gazmoda?
COUNCIL MEMBER GAZMODA: Death in the first degree
COUNCIL LEADER: Council member Turpentine?
COUNCIL MEMBER TURPENTINE: Death in the first degree
COUNCIL LEADER: As a majority have already made their decision, so be it. Death in the first degree.
LORD PREFECT: (in a worried state) What does that mean? What does it mean?

Dieter is summoned from the cell and escorted out of the prison room.
Aspa is playing with his gun.
ARHARDT: What are they going to do with us?
ASPA: Your lives are to be spared. What exactly will happen? Who knows
TAYO: What are they going to do to the thirty seven?
ASPA: They’re going to kill them.
TAYO: I have friends among the thirty seven
ARHARDT: So have I.
TAYO: Do you think your friends are more important than mine?
Tayo pushes Arhardt
ARHARDT: Don’t you push me. Why I ought to
Tayo pushes him again
TAYO: What are you? A wimp
Arhardt pushes back.
Aspa freezes the both of them with his weapon and enters the cell.
ASPA: Back off the lot of you.

Tayo and Gustav enter the second holding cell and freeze the guards.
An alarm rings out
ARHARDT: Great what are we going to do now? We were safe. And just because you wanted to play hero.
Gustav closes the door. Tayo opens the cell. Sincro is last to leave the cell.
SINCRO: Why would you save me?
GUSTAV: Do you want a second chance or not?
Sincro joins the others.
GUSTAV: We need everyone to group together. This may or may not work.
KENDRA: That doesn’t sound good.
Gustav attempts to transport everyone. He presses the weapon and they disappear.
TAYO: Where did they go?
GUSTAV: Hopefully? Home. Truthfully? I don’t know.
He pauses:
GUSTAV: Give me your gun. We don’t have much time.
Gustav plays with the settings on Tayo’s gun and hands it back to him. The doors start to open.
GUSTAV: On three. Fire.
TAYO: One, two, three
Both of them disappear.

SUPREME LEADER: It’s you who is to be damned. Lower her down.
Barbella is gradually lowered down through a gap in the Landing bay.
DIETER: No. I thought you were to give me a chance to save her.
SUPREME LEADER: You will get your chance.
An alien soldier tosses Dieter a hoverboard.
Barbella is released and falls downwards. Dieter jumps down to follow her.

They reach the surface, breathing heavily.

Dieter emerges from the water with Barbella.
Ariadne sees them but also sees a box fall from the sky. Ariadne dives into the sea and tries to retrieve the box.
She swims down, holding her breath. She reaches the box, struggles to open it and then retrieves Lord Prefect. She struggles to bring him to the surface. Dieter helps her.
The three of them reach the surface and swim towards the beach. Dieter and Ariadne fall onto the beach with Lord
Prefect
Lord Prefect is dying from the bites.
LORD PREFECT: Why? Why did you rescue me?
ARIADNE: Because it was the right thing to do.
Lord Prefect closes his eyes and dies.
Barbella walks away from the beach. Dieter chases after her.
DIETER: Barbella
Barbella stops
DIETER: I love you Barbella
BARBELLA: Right now, Dieter, this is not a good time. Even if it was a good time - why would I fall for the man who defended that monster
DIETER: I didn’t enjoy it Barbella. I did it because I had no other choice
BARBELLA: You always have a choice, even if it means death.
Barbella walks away.
INT. MOTHERSHIP, HALL OF THE HIERARCHY - DAY
The Alien Supreme Leader enters the hall of the hierarchy.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY: Supreme Leader, we are all in agreement that your position is untenable.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: What have I done wrong? I have done so many positive things.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY: And clearly some negative ones.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: This is because of Littbarski. How dare you.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY: We all know that if you bring a case with the council of ministers you will not win. We can offer you an alternative. Something which does not damage your position with the wider public.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: I am the Supreme Leader. I bow to no one. I am nothing without it.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY: You have been so consumed with power that you have forgotten your oath to serve the people. Our leader is meant to lead and inspire.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: I don’t want to retire.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY; The planet of Lavery is among the most serene in the universe. You can retire there with several subjects to help you.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: I will fight this.
LEADER OF THE HIERARCHY: The alternative as you well know, is prison.
ALIEN SUPREME LEADER: What becomes of the humans?

All prisoners land in a mucky pig sty surrounded by pigs.
ARHARDT: Great. Just Great
KENDRA: Well, Blowhard you should just feel right at home.
TAYO: Lets party.
They cheer
INT. UNDERWORLD, RESTAURANT - EVENING
ARHARDT: When you said party, I assumed alcohol would be involved.
TAYO: Aren’t you high on adrenaline? We are all free.
ARIADNE: Gustav, you are the bravest man I know. You conquered all your fears and helped rescue innocent people
GUSTAV: There’s just one more fear I need to conquer.
Dieter enters the room. In unison the crowd chant “speech, speech, speech”
DIETER: have only one thing to say. We should no longer be afraid. We may have nightmares and encounter terrifying things, but they should not stop us from inspiring ourselves and others.
ARHARDT: Call that a speech? Stick to the knitting.
EXT. UNDERWORLD, RESTAURANT - EVENING
Barbella is seated alone on a small bank of grass. Dieter sits beside her.
DIETER: I’m sorry about what happened earlier. I should not presume that you would want to be with me. I was selfish. I wanted to defend you because I thought I could help you. I should have talked to you first.
BARBELLA: My head has been spinning for a while now. With each passing hour it feels like I’m regaining control.
DIETER: I should have known that the alien leader was acting in her own interests. I didn’t think. I know you’d rather die a martyr.
BARBELLA: Lord Prefect is gone. There is hope that wasn’t there before.
DIETER: I know you’ve had a very tough life. I guess I’d only like to make it better.
Barbella lies back on the ground
BARBELLA :Can’t we just lie here and look up at the stars?
Dieter also lies back on the ground
DIETER(pointing at the stars): Did you know that that one is called the Spartacus formation?
